As the fuel price continues to climb, the cost of most of the inputs that we
use in animal agriculture will increase as well. I suspect that we will see the
demand for animal products decline in communities where there is less
disposable income, as people still have to use fuel to get to work – no matter
what. I am afraid that things do not look exciting for pig and poultry
producers in the short term.
