This will be the last newsletter for 2003. It is true that feed prices have come down, although this has been a bit slower than both the millers and poultry producers would have hoped for. This is largely because of the forward positions many companies took on maize last year. Despite the far stronger Rand the price of broilers and eggs have held their own. The pork price has however been a little disappointing of late. Lets hope that as we move into the Christmas period that prices will form a bit. |
